Still not a lot of news, but here is a few snippets for you

RDC:

The Roundstone Development Council had their AGM last Monday. Three years has now been completed by the present committee. The nominations for a new committee were read out, and have now been written to should they want to accept the nomination to play a part with the new committee, only this time he /she will have to take on a responsibility for certain issues relating to the village such as roads, water, tidy towns etc, in fact there was quite a list in the letter of work to be ticked off, actually looking at it , this way at least all the various issues that have to be looked into, each new committee member will have a job to do, and cut out just the handful to do all the work. So therefore it will be at least another week before we have a new committee. We also have a new secretary , Regina who starts tomorrow. Unfortunately Josephine Coyne past secretary for RDC her time was done, and I personally would like to thank her for all the bits and pieces she did for me, relating to tidy towns etc, Josephine was a great help.

Eldon’s Hotel:

A double celebration was held last Friday, with the opening of Eldon’s Hotel and Carol’s Reynolds surprise Birthday party, which filled the hotel for the weekend which is a nice start for Carol and her new and brave venture, so as we don’t divulge a ladies age, but suffice to which her happy birthday and to wish the family all the luck in the world for their forth coming season in the hotel.

Ronan King:

It took face book to find out that Ronan King and Christine Stamoulis, son of Jackie and Shirley, were married last Saturday in Sidney, Australia, actually as we speak all Ronan’s family are all out there celebrating their marriage . So Ronan and Christine from all the community in Roundstone we wish you long life together.

St Patrick’s Day:

Well, next week, i.e. Thursday 17th St Patrick’s day, I am sure that next Monday Ann will give a few more details of what promises’ a great parade day in Roundstone, and while I think about it after Mass, we will have some local musicians to play a little music outside the church for a few minutes just to kick off the celebrations, so people please hang about for a bit to support them

Don Stiffe:

As Ann mentioned last week, votes were needed for Don Stiffe from Headford representing the west of Ireland in the All Ireland Talent Show, some thing worked he has made it into the finals which will be shown in two weeks time. Don having been a regular player during the Irish nights here in Roundstone, its exciting to watch his progress, he really was fantastic last night, as was the second of Doty O’Sheas second entrant representatives for the west was Cosa Beoga, from Abbey Knock Moy a group of young children with their interpretation of a set and brush dancing, they were wonderful to watch, so any way we wish them all the luck for the finals coming up in two weeks time.

Happy Pancake Day tomorrow also good luck for all your Lenten deeds. Keep smiling.
