RIP Johnny Sean Jack McDonagh;
The people of Roundstone were saddened at the death due to a boating accident of Johnny Sean Jack McDonagh Carna, early on sat morning. Johnny & his brother Josie skippers of Gleogoig beag the McHugh owned by Mairtin Keane on which the accident occurred were travelling between Kinvara and Rosaville for the final regatta of the season in Rosaville when the accident happened. They had one their class in an Cruinnen na Bhad in Kinvara the week previous.  The boat Bla na  h’oige which is owned by Paraic O Cuilain  was sailing in front of them with four young men on board they saw the McHugh go down  and went back to help..

Josie survived the ordeal but sadly Johnny was dead when the lads Augus & Jerry reached them.

Both Johnny & Josie were Veterans of sailing and were looked up to by the all boat faring people in the area particularly with the young,  they are also well known sanos singers, Josie is a 3 times winner of Colin na Riada.
