We have all been following the fall out of the Iceland Volcano and the disruption and chaos it has caused
In Roundstone alone four people I know off has had to postpone their trip to the states. I myself was due to go to Nice on Wednesday and still don’t know if this is possible or not. A friend of mine is stuck in Romania he was on a business trip and cannot get out. It goes on and on I suppose all of us know somebody or other that has been affected. But at least everyone is safe and well at any rate.

Birthdays:
Richard hosted a lovely lunch on Saturday to 30 guests, family and friends of his Aunt Iris who was celebrating her 90 birthday.  Iris who lives in Oughterard is a regular visitor to Errisbeg & still drives around the place.  She is a wonderful gardener and has some lovely old fashioned Shrubs and flowers in her huge garden and makes wonderful chocolate cake.

In St Anne’s The Watt’s Family gathered to celebrate the 97 birthday of Vera.  Vera is a very special person and is remembered with fond memories of all the different times she attended local functions and was the life and soul of the party.  She will go down in memory for her ditty Cinderella which always had us in stitches.
Very happy birthday to you Vera and Iris too and all the other 90 year olds we have out there and we have quiet a few So long life and good health to you all.

Rosie’s hair salon which is such a great asset to the village will be staying open right through the week as from now for the summer.
